The Society for Medieval Archaeology Student Colloquium

28th-30th October 2011
The McDonald Institute, The University of Cambridge

CALL FOR PAPERS

The Society for Medieval Archaeology is pleased to announce the Call for Papers for our 2011 Student Colloquium. We welcome proposals for papers from across the medieval period (5th to 16th century A.D.) from all geographical areas. Papers from subjects other than archaeology but which have a broader medieval significance will also be considered.

The SMA Colloquium provides a platform for postgraduates and early career professionals to share their research. This year’s event will be held at the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research at the University of Cambridge and will incorporate a fieldtrip culminating in the Annual Brixworth Lecture on 30th October.

Papers will be given a 20 minute time slot, each of which will be followed by a time for questions. Abstracts must be no longer than 250 words in length. We also welcome abstracts for posters. The deadline for all papers and posters is Friday 9th September.

Abstracts are to be submitted to: medieval.archaeology@googlemail.co.uk

Please ensure that all email submissions include ‘Student Colloquium Abstract’ in the subject heading.
