Archaeologists find medieval settlement in Azerbaijan

Archaeologists found a medieval settlement in 2 km north of Uzuntepe village of Jalilabad.

According to the news service for the National Academy of Science of Azerbaijan, archaeologists called the settlement Goshatepe, since it is divided in two parts by hills.

A part of the settlement is a sowing area and another part is a fruitful land. All the same, the archaeologists found the remnants of the animals, crockery and ceramic dishes, 28 copper coins (12-13th centuries) and other household things.

By the suggestion of the scientists of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of the National Academy of Science of Azerbaijan, the settlement in Jalilabad region of Azerbaijan dates to the 11-13th centuries.
