Call for application - ARCHAEOLOGICAL EXCAVATION OF THE
ROMAN VILLA AND MEDIEVAL CHURCH AT SANTA MARTA (Tuscany-Italy)


________Third season of excavation. EXCAVATION SESSIONS IN 2014
___________Session 1: 11 May - 30 May
___________Session 2: 1 June - 20 June
___________Session 3: 29 June - 18 July
___________Session 4: 20 July - 8 August

The project is directed from Prof. Stefano Campana, University of Siena
- Department of Historical Sciences and Cultural Resources
Laboratory of Landscape Archaeology and Remote Sensing

Applications for participation are invited from students and graduates
at all levels.
The work will involve:
archaeological excavation
digital documentation and photographic recording;
survey using total station, GNSS, laser scanning and photogrammetry
data processing and mobile GIS
washing, marking and drawing of pottery and other finds.

All participants must submit a CV and indicate their chosen session or
sessions

Participants MUST ARRANGE THEIR OWN ACCIDENT INSURANCE AND ANTI-TETANUS
INJECTIONS (proof of these arrangements must be presented as a condition
of participation)
Other essentials are working boots with reinforced toe caps, suitable
excavation clothing (trousers, anti-sun hat, waterproofs) and a 4" or 5"
trowel if you have one

Essential personal gear for use at the living accommodation provided for
the excavators are sheets or sleeping bag, towel and toiletries, own
breakfast food

Mid-day and evening meals will be provided free of charge.

The minimum period for participation is one full session
