International summer school on Virtual Archaeology (Grosseto, Italia, 10-15 septiembre)

The school is organized by Mara Sternini (University of Siena, Italy) and Eva Pietroni (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, Italy).
The School aims to bring together young archaeologists, engineers,
architects and scientists to study and improve the latest developments in 3D modeling of complex objects and sites of archaeological value.
The school will consist of theoretical and practical lectures, data
acquisition and processing, discussions and interactive labs.
The lecture TOPICS will be: virtual heritage and virtual museums, GRASS, QGIS. photogrammetry, dense stereo matching (Arc3D), laser scanner and data post-processing (Meshlab), 3D modelling (Blender/3Dstudio Max, VUE), introduction to engine graphics for virtual reconstruction (Unity 3D).
Classes will be held in english by Francesco Antinucci, Marco Callieri,
Matteo Delle Piane, Marco Di Ioia, Augusto Palombini, Sofia Pescarin, Eva Pietroni, Giuseppe Pucci, Claudio Rufa.
Certificates of participation will be delivered to all participants.
The REGISTRATION FEE of the school is 400 Euro and it includes the
participation to labs and theoretical lectures.

The DEADLINE for the registration is 29th JUNE 2011. Please send an email to Mara Sternini ( with a CV in attachment.
We will host a minimum of 15 participants and a maximum of 30
participants. If applications will be more than 30, we will do a selection of the participants based on the CV and on the criteria first-come first-serve.

Cheap accommodations are available, on request, at the Maremma hotel for 50 Eur/day (breakfast and dinner included)
