Conference Outline

This interdisciplinary conference is aimed at postgraduate students exploring medieval topics during the course of their research. Call for Papers

Postgraduate students engaged with research involving the medieval period are invited to participate and attend this symposium at Cardiff University. Over the period of this symposium, we will explore the broad theme of medieval identity in its numerous forms. Conceived of as an interdisciplinary event, the focus of this symposium is to bring together postgraduate researchers for an opportunity to network and provide a platform to share current research in an informal and welcoming environment.

Diverse and multifaceted, the theme of medieval identity is deliberately comprehensive to accommodate a broad range of research topics from a variety of disciplines.

Themes could include, but are not limited to:
-‐ Cultural convergence and exchange
-‐ The experience of diasporas
-‐ Death and burial
-‐ Social or political status
-‐ Identity construction, within a historical or contemporary theoretical context
